Michelle Messenger Garrett is an accomplished writer, editor and public relations professional.

Since 1989, Michelle has worked with companies large and small, including Sun, HP, Adobe, SGI, PlaceWare, CompuServe and many others.

Since launching her consulting practice in March 1999, she has worked with a number of start-up companies, including Supplybase, Inc., which was acquired in a stock deal valued at $380 million by i2 Technologies in the spring of 2000.

Other noteworthy past and present clients include: PlaceWare, a Microsoft company and leading provider or web conferencing services; Netvein, an arm of the Japanese ITOCHU Corporation; and Trek Aerospace, a Silicon Valley aerospace start-up developing a vertical take-off and landing aircraft, SoloTrek XFV.

Before launching her consultancy, Michelle was with Cunningham Communication as an account manager, where she managed annual budgets exceeding $1 million for Adobe and HP. Her previous in-house experience includes public relations, marketing communications and corporate communications roles at companies such as SGI and CompuServe.

Michelle's experience includes working with not only business and high-tech press, but also press in the following industries: manufacturing, government, aerospace, entertainment, human resources, international, printing and publishing, financial, small office/home office (SOHO), and more.

Before entering the high-tech world in 1989, she worked for a public TV and radio station, WOSU-AM-FM-TV in Columbus, Ohio.

Michelle graduated with honors with a B.A. in Journalism/Public Relations and Political Science from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Winner of the International Association of Business Communicators' (IABC) Silver Quill award for technical writing, she's an active IABC member and served on the Board of Directors as president of the IABC Silicon Valley chapter, which has 300 members. She has worked as a volunteer with Cinequest, the San Jose film festival, as well as Team in Training and Wildlife Rescue.
